Flipkart Group CFO Sriram Venkataraman to Step Down as IPO Preparation Advances

The Walmart-owned retailer is exploring a domestic listing following a shift of its holding domicile to India.

Overview

  • Venkataraman will remain during a transition over the coming months to support a smooth handover, the company said.
  • Ravi Iyer, a long-time executive and most recently CFO of the marketplace arm, will oversee the broader finance organisation on an interim basis with no permanent successor named yet.
  • Flipkart also appointed Nishant Verman as senior vice president for corporate development and partnerships, strengthening its dealmaking bench.
  • The company has completed redomiciliation from Singapore to India and, according to multiple reports, is in early discussions with banks such as Goldman Sachs, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan for a potential 2026–2027 listing.
  • Recent restructuring includes performance-review exits reported at roughly 3–4% of staff, and media reports on FY25 filings show revenue growth and narrower losses at the marketplace unit.
