- Paul Rudd, 58, of Mold Road, Broughton, appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court charged with one count of attempted murder.

- The pedestrian struck was a 43-year-old man from Wrexham who remains at the Countess of Chester Hospital in a stable condition.
- Rudd was arrested in the early hours of Saturday and has been remanded in custody following the magistrates’ court appearance.
