Overview
- Flex LNG said Wednesday it signed a minimum two-year time charter for the 2020-built Flex Aurora with an unnamed supermajor after the ship was redelivered in the first half of March.
- The charter carries 2+2+2 year options that could keep the vessel employed through 2034 if all extensions are taken.
- Following the agreement, Flex LNG reports a minimum backlog of 55 vessel-years, a measure of secured ship employment that could reach 82 if options are exercised.
- Management expects the contract, together with remaining spot-market exposure, to lift earnings in the second quarter of 2026.
- The company warns that volatile LNG shipping and wider energy markets could lead to changes in its full-year guidance.
