Overview
- Police at the Allstate Road Panera in Dorchester, called shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday, moved to remove a group of teens.
- After officers warned them not to return, the same teens walked back in, and a girl shoved an officer as police tried to detain the group.
- The struggle escalated into what police called chaos, with flipped tables, one teen kicking officers, and another hurling a table.
- Five youths ages 14 to 17 were arrested, three on assault-on-officer and resisting counts in addition to trespassing, and all are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
- Boston police say they have fielded more than 15 calls this year to remove juveniles at this location, describing repeated outreach by district officers and the School Unit that has not solved the problem.
