Five Charged Over Alleged Rape of Teen in Gravesend

A Crown Court hearing on 22 May will move the case into formal case management.

  • Kent Police, which received the report on Tuesday, charged five males on Friday in connection with the Gravesend investigation.
  • Ionut Dobre, 33, is charged with rape, while Benone Inofte, 46, is charged with aiding and abetting a rape.
  • Three boys, two aged 16 and one aged 15, are also charged in relation to the offence at a private home on Salisbury Road.
  • The alleged assaults took place between 25 March and 19 April, according to police statements and court records.
  • All five appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, with the two men remanded in custody, two boys held in youth detention, and one placed in local-authority care, and the next hearing set for Woolwich Crown Court on 22 May.
