Overview
- Police were called at about 3:10pm on December 19 to Seabank Road in New Brighton after a mass fight outside Tower Stores, with CCTV showing a street melee and reports of weapons.
- Those charged are Joseph Harrington, 23, affray and possession of an offensive weapon; Connor Kelly, 25, affray and possession of an offensive weapon; Leon Lowe, 23, affray; Abbey Rowlands, 23, affray and dangerous driving; and Corey Scholes, 19, section 18 wounding with intent and affray.
- All five appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today, where Rowlands and Scholes were released on conditional bail, while Kelly, Lowe and Harrington were remanded into custody.
- The five defendants are scheduled to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on January 19.
- A sixth suspect, a 23-year-old man from Egremont, was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon and has been conditionally bailed, and detectives are appealing for witnesses quoting reference 25001034772 via 101, @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers.
