- All five are charged with conspiracy to assist illegal entry to the UK and transferring criminal property after arrests on February 17.

- The NCA alleges the group moved Vietnamese migrants from France since summer 2024 using lorries and small boats and retained genuine passports to enforce debt bondage.
- The men appeared at magistrates' courts in Liverpool, Birmingham and Sheffield, and the NCA says the case forms part of roughly 100 active people‑smuggling investigations.
