Overview
- The five-alarm blaze broke out just before 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, on 41st Road in Flushing and spread within minutes to two adjoining buildings.
- Roughly two dozen people were taken to hospitals, most of them firefighters and EMS personnel treated for heat exhaustion, smoke inhalation and minor strains.
- Crews rescued a resident trapped on the second floor who was hospitalized in serious condition and a 78-year-old woman was reported in critical condition.
