Overview
- The fire was first reported at about 8:30am on Thursday when South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received calls about a blaze at a property on Maendy Road in Aberthin.
- Multiple fire crews from Bridgend, Llantwit Major, Barry, Pontypridd, Kenfig Hill and Ely are on scene with appliances, a water bowser and an aerial hydraulic platform and the incident remains ongoing.
- South Wales Police have closed the A4222 in both directions between Watery Lane and Cowbridge High Street and have urged the public to avoid the area because of heavy smoke and poor visibility.
