Overview
- Cabin crew discovered a tissue paper warning that the flight would be blown up during routine cleaning of the IndiGo 6E-108 lavatory after it landed in Mohali on July 5.
- Flight 6E-108 had carried 220 passengers, five crew members and two pilots and landed safely at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport at 11:58 am.
- Security manager Manmohan Singh alerted Mohali Airport police, who deployed a bomb disposal squad and conducted a full search that found no explosives or suspicious items.
- Officials registered a case under Sections 217, 351 and 324(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sections 3(a) and 3(2) of the UAPA and the Aircraft (Security) Act.
- The threat is the latest in over 250 hoax bomb scares since late 2024, fueling calls for tighter screening, more air marshals and potential no-fly lists.
