FIR Filed Against Husband, In-Laws After Hiba Rana Alleges Dowry Abuse and Triple Talaq

Police in Lucknow opened an investigation after registering an FIR under the Dowry Prohibition Act, the 2019 triple talaq law, sections of the BNS.

  • She alleges frequent assaults, attempts on her life, and an April 9, 2025 incident in which Saqib pronounced triple talaq, expelled her from the home, and locked their two children inside a room.
  • The complaint also reports an assault on her sister during a confrontation, and police say the investigation is underway as Hiba cites continuing threats and mental trauma.
