Overview
- A 48-year-old Tata Consultancy Services engineer, Amit Abhay Brahme, was found dead at his Bhosari home on June 2 and his 19-year-old son filed an FIR at Bhosari police station on June 9 that named three people linked to his suicide.
- Pimpri-Chinchwad police have booked two TCS employees and one non-employee under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for alleged abetment to suicide, have issued notices to TCS, are searching for the non-TCS accused, and say no arrests have been made so far.
- The suicide note and the FIR accuse the two colleagues of repeated public humiliation, denying favourable projects, assigning work beyond his expertise, threatening negative feedback, and refusing leave while his wife was ill, and they accuse the third person of sending defamatory emails and legal notices.
- TCS issued condolences, said it is ascertaining the facts, is cooperating with investigators, and is extending support to the family while the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate has asked the Maharashtra chief minister for a high-level independent probe.
