- FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee approved the Argentine Football Association’s request on Thursday to let the international suspensions be served in Class A friendly matches and/or official CONMEBOL fixtures.
- The original penalties remain in force: Leandro Paredes was banned for 10 matches and fined $90,000, Nahuel Molina seven matches and $90,000, Thiago Almada one match and $30,000, and assistant coach Roberto Ayala three matches and $30,000.
- The AFA was fined about $321,000 for multiple tournament violations and ordered to play its next two home matches at 50% capacity with one of those restrictions suspended.
- The AFA is awaiting FIFA’s written grounds for the rulings and has said it will appeal to FIFA’s Appeal Committee and potentially to the Court of Arbitration for Sport if needed.
- Practically, Argentina can now schedule exhibition matches in the upcoming international windows to burn off suspensions faster, though Paredes still faces the longest absence and the disciplinary findings were based on RefCam and broadcast footage of the post‑final clashes.
