Overview
- FIFA published the full 64‑match schedule on Aug. 20, assigning matches across eight Brazilian host cities and fixing tournament dates for June 24–July 25, 2027.
- Rio’s Maracanã is set to stage both the tournament opener and the final while Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, São Paulo and Rio will stage quarterfinals and other cities are guaranteed knockout ties.
- The CBF, the federal government and FIFA convened a Host Cities and Stadiums Workshop in Rio from Aug. 24–26 to align logistics on transport, stadium operations, security, sustainability, volunteering and the FIFA Fan Festival.
- Most teams will be known before the draw because Concacaf and UEFA qualification windows run in late November and early December 2026 and an inter‑confederation playoff in February 2027 will fill remaining places.
- Organizers say the plan balances travel and recovery to protect competitive fairness and aims to use the tournament to boost women’s football across Brazil as the first Women’s World Cup staged in South America.
