Overview
- FIFA presented bespoke Champions Rings to Spain’s players and coaching staff on 19 July in the New York New Jersey Stadium dressing room and called the presentation the birth of a new World Cup tradition.
- Each ring is hand-crafted by a Swiss-based maker from 18-carat yellow gold and set with 89 pavé diamonds and 36 sapphires, with the World Cup trophy on one side and Spain’s crest on the other.
- The numbered run totals 2,026 pieces, of which 30 are allocated to the squad and 1,996 are listed for public sale on the official site at a reported price of about $12,000 each.
- Some players will receive additional, sponsor-made rings — reported collaborations include Under Armour and the jewellery brand Hoorsenbuhs — creating multiple commemorative pieces for certain squad members.
- Championship rings have a long history in North American sports and observers say FIFA’s move both commercialises World Cup memorabilia and reflects U.S. influence on how the 2026 tournament has been presented.
