FIA Sets June 2026 Candidate Rally To Assess U.S. Return To WRC

Delegates will review proposed stages in Kentucky and Tennessee to judge readiness for a future championship round.

Overview

  • The FIA has scheduled a candidate World Rally Championship event for June 11–17, 2026 in Kentucky and Tennessee.
  • The exercise will be conducted with ACCUS and observed as if it were on the calendar to measure compliance with FIA requirements.
  • Officials will inspect stages and infrastructure, meet proposed promoter Podium Event Partners, and visit an ARA national round to engage the U.S. rally community.
  • A positive evaluation would open the door for a U.S. round to be proposed for the 2027 WRC calendar.
  • At this stage the U.S. is the only nation to file an official candidate-event application this year, and the series last raced in America at the 1988 Olympus Rally.
