- Fi issued a voluntary recall on Sept. 3 and the FDA posted the notice on Sept. 8 for two 180 g supplements identified by lot numbers 26118 and 26159 with their UPCs listed.
- The company says tests pointed to an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer and the manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates the supplier and the ingredient.
- The recalled products were sold directly and through Amazon and Chewy, and the FDA tells consumers to stop use, tightly seal the container, and dispose of the product in the trash.
- No illnesses have been reported so far but Salmonella can make pets sick and can infect people who handle contaminated products or animal waste, so pet owners should contact a veterinarian or health care provider if symptoms develop and report problems to the FDA.
- Fi is notifying affected customers and offering support by phone and email, and the production pause could limit supply while investigators work to identify the contaminated ingredient and its source.
