FGR Seizes More Than One Million Liters of Suspected Fuel in Cadereyta

Federal forensics will test the liquids to decide if they can be reused, must be destroyed or can be used as evidence to trace the origin and responsible networks.

Overview

  • The seizure, which took place Friday, May 29, recovered about 671,000 liters of suspected hydrocarbon and roughly 400,000 liters of a black-and-yellow liquid that will undergo laboratory analysis.
  • The raid targeted a property on the Libramiento Alfonso Martínez Domínguez in Cadereyta Jiménez and followed intelligence work that identified the site as a possible fuel storage point.
  • The operation was led by the Fiscalía Especializada de Control Regional with support from the FGR, SSPC, Sedena, the National Guard and federal investigators.
  • Authorities also secured trucks, autotanques, about 409 cubitanques, silos, pumps, forklifts and power plants, and all items were placed at the disposal of the Ministerio Público Federal.
  • Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the liquids and identify those responsible, with no arrests reported so far and potential links to organized crime to be assessed by prosecutors.
