Overview
- A U.S. district judge approved agreements that require DuPont-related companies and 3M to provide more than $2.5 billion in payments and cleanup commitments to New Jersey.
- DuPont, Chemours and Corteva will provide $875 million in payments plus $1.2 billion in remediation commitments and must create a $475 million reserve to guarantee cleanup of four former industrial sites.
- 3M will pay between $400 million and $450 million over the same 25-year payment schedule to address drinking-water contamination tied to PFAS-containing firefighting foam used in the state.
