Overview
- The Cámara Federal of Appeals, in a decision signed by magistrate Leopoldo Bruglia, ordered the unification of separate probes into former Defense minister Luis Petri and provincial deputy Francisco Adorni into one case to be led by Judge Sebastián Ramos.
- Citing July 8's ruling, the court said combining files will avoid conflicting rulings and allow investigators to trace links between ministry decisions and financial flows at the Instituto de Obra Social de las Fuerzas Armadas y de Seguridad (IOSFA).
- Judge Daniel Rafecas separately ordered new evidence collection in Adorni's personal-enrichment inquiry, asking Banco Provincia for 2024–2026 payment records, the provincial property registry for two properties, and the Legislature for Adorni's latest asset declaration.
- Prosecutors focus on a contested $40,000 million loan from the IAF to IOSFA, large direct contracts and payroll retentions during Petri's tenure, and on whether Adorni, as IAF board president, failed to control or transparently supervise those funds.
- Investigators will also scrutinize a $21 million inheritance entry and a $60 million mortgage repayment tied to Adorni, with fiscal Guillermo Marijuán seeking an indagatoria if the newly ordered records support charges of illicit enrichment or false declarations.
