FBI Targets Two January Dates, Recovers New Images in Week 7 of Nancy Guthrie Search

Investigators are widening the timeline and extracting stills from home cameras as they pursue mixed DNA testing at a private lab.

Overview

  • Agents have asked neighbors for security footage from January 11 and January 24, and in some cases reviewed archives with residents on-site.
  • Additional thumbnail images pulled from motion-activated cameras by the pool, side yard and backyard were recovered in recent weeks but show nothing from the night of the abduction.
  • Sheriff Chris Nanos says the attack appears targeted and warns the perpetrator could "absolutely" strike again, as detectives withhold key theories to protect the case.
  • A mixed DNA sample from inside the home is being analyzed in Florida, while DNA on a glove found about two miles away was traced to an unrelated restaurant worker.
  • No suspects have been named or arrests made; the family has been ruled out as persons of interest and a combined reward of more than $1.2 million is being offered for tips.
