Overview
- Investigators link three incidents over two weeks to the same suspect at banks inside a Food Town on Antoine Drive on Feb. 21 and Mar. 5, and a Kroger on State Highway 249 on Mar. 3.
- In each case the suspect handed a teller a threatening note demanding cash, fled on foot or a bicycle, and no injuries were reported; the Mar. 3 attempt ended with the suspect leaving empty-handed.
- After the latest robbery, a plastic bag of stolen cash split in the parking lot before the suspect gathered the money and rode away on a bicycle.
- The suspect is described as a Black man in his mid-50s, about 5'9" with a medium build, a graying goatee, and thick eyebrows.
- He wore a red hooded sweatshirt during the first robbery, then dark gray coveralls with an unknown logo in the last two incidents, which led investigators to dub him the "Coverall Crook."
