FBI Offers $15,000 Reward in Manhunt for Honduran Suspect Accused of Ramming ICE Vehicles in Texas

DHS data show a sharp rise in vehicular attacks on ICE over the past year.

Overview

  • A federal arrest warrant was issued on January 14 in the Eastern District of Texas for Jerson Lopez-Sanchez, who remains at large.
  • The incident began December 1 in Lewisville during a traffic stop when the driver allegedly reversed into a Jeep as an ICE agent was exiting, injuring the agent.
  • He then allegedly rammed a Chrysler van carrying ICE personnel, injuring agents and deploying the vehicle’s front airbags.
  • After about a 10-minute pursuit, the truck stopped on a median, five occupants fled, and three were detained with help from civilians.
  • Lopez-Sanchez is charged with three counts of assaulting or resisting federal officers, and the FBI is seeking tips at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
