Overview
- Authorities say Lu orchestrated the 2014 abduction, torture and killings of brothers Vu and Viet Huynh, as well as the attempted murder of a third man.
- Investigators link the crimes to a large-scale marijuana operation and an unpaid six-figure drug debt tied to New York suppliers and the Born to Kill gang.
- The brothers were found in the Schuylkill River bound with zip ties and duct tape, stabbed and weighted, after a surviving victim escaped and alerted police.
- Lu was charged in absentia in 2019, is believed to have fled to Vietnam, and remains the only suspect not yet in custody as the FBI pursues leads at home and abroad.
- Co-conspirators have been convicted over the years, including ringleader Tam Minh Le, who was sentenced to death and died in prison in February 2025, with others receiving lengthy terms.
