Overview
- The FBI said Nitish Kaushal was arrested in Vermont on Thursday, days after the agency added him to its Most Wanted list on July 14.
- A federal arrest warrant filed on June 25 in the Central District of California charges Kaushal with RICO conspiracy in a case that targets members of the Bhagwanpuria organised crime group.
- Operation Hard Ball has produced coordinated raids and three federal indictments that name roughly 34–37 defendants across the Bhagwanpuria, Bishnoi and Dhanda networks.
- U.S. authorities allege the Bhagwanpuria group runs murder, kidnapping, drug and weapons trafficking, extortion and money‑laundering schemes and say Kaushal personally carried out kidnappings and assaults and should be considered armed and dangerous.
- Prosecutions are ongoing, other fugitives remain at large including Satinderjeet Singh (Goldy Brar) who has a $50,000 FBI reward, and convictions under the RICO counts could carry sentences from a decade to life in prison.
