Overview
- Alexis Flores, the long-sought suspect in the kidnapping, rape, and murder of 5-year-old Iriana DeJesus, was taken into custody in Honduras on Feb. 11, according to the FBI.
- Pennsylvania authorities obtained warrants on March 22, 2007 charging Flores with murder and related felonies, and a federal warrant was issued the same day for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
- Flores appeared on the FBI’s Most Wanted list from 2007 until his removal in March 2025 during a program review, a change that did not affect the underlying warrants.
- FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrest resulted from sustained international investigative work and that Flores is now on a path back to the U.S.
- The bureau noted the capture alongside January arrests of other longtime fugitives, including Alejandro Rosales Castillo and Ryan Wedding.
