Overview
- Emergency services were called around 9:40am after a collision between a car transporter and a Honda Civic on the Birdlip bypass.
- The Honda driver, a man in his 40s from Gloucester, was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.
- A woman and two young children from the car were taken to a Bristol hospital for treatment, and the lorry driver was assessed without serious injuries.
- The A417 is shut between Cirencester and Gloucester, including the Air Balloon roundabout, with related closures at M5 junction 11A, B4070 Buckholt Road and the Twelve Bells junction.
- National Highways has diversion routes in place, and police are asking witnesses to submit information or dashcam footage quoting incident 133 of 1 February.
