Family Issues New Appeal as Search for Missing Soldier Ryan Rudd Enters Fourth Week

Police now treat a possible entry into the River Ouse as a key line of inquiry.

Overview

  • Parents Kerstin and Ken Rudd released a new photo and urged anyone with information to contact North Yorkshire Police.
  • The 28-year-old from 1st Battalion, Royal Yorkshire Regiment was last confirmed on CCTV at 2:54am on 15 February walking past the Old Flour Factory toward New Millgate in Selby.
  • He was reported missing on 1 March after failing to return to Catterick Garrison, with officers conducting CCTV reviews, door-to-door checks, and specialist land and water searches using drones.
  • The Ministry of Defence says it is examining why his absence was not reported sooner, and reports state he was due on duty roughly 24 hours after the last sighting.
  • Police describe him as white, around 5ft 8in tall and slim with dark brown hair, last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue hooded top and black trousers.
