Facelifted Cupra Born EV Gets Sharper Design, Real Buttons, Longer Range

Cupra targets earlier usability gripes with physical controls, a larger driver display, confirmed VZ performance.

Overview

  • Cupra adopts its latest design language with triangular Matrix LED headlights, a reworked rear featuring an illuminated Cupra badge, and new 19- and 20-inch wheels with wider 235 mm tires.
  • The cabin swaps haptic steering controls for physical buttons, adds a 10.25-inch driver display beside a 12.9-inch Android-based touchscreen, upgrades materials, and introduces rear air vents.
  • The lineup includes a 58 kWh Plus (~280 miles/450 km) and a 79 kWh Endurance (~372 miles/600 km) with up to 185 kW DC fast charging and 11 kW AC capability.
  • The VZ variant is rated at 240 kW and 545 Nm with 0–100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and a 200 km/h top speed, plus launch control, regen paddles, and a new interior sound signature.
  • The MEB-based hatch remains rear-drive with a new one-pedal mode and updated driver aids including Travel Assist 3.0, Crossroad Assist, and enhanced Front Assist, and it reaches European dealers this summer; Australian availability is yet to be detailed.
