Overview
- The FIA staged the inaugural United Against Online Abuse Day at the British Grand Prix on Tuesday, bringing drivers, team leaders and broadcasters together to call out online harassment.
- FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem led the event and was joined by prominent figures including Fernando Alonso, Kimi Antonelli, Esteban Ocon, Franco Colapinto and McLaren CEO Zak Brown.
- UAOA branding appeared across the Silverstone paddock, in parc fermé and on interview backdrops as organisers used high-visibility activations to raise public awareness.
- The campaign ties back to a UAOA coalition founded in 2023, carries endorsements from more than 75 organisations and is supported by the FIA Foundation with co-funding from the European Union.
- The FIA said it will publish two interviews per day after the event on UAOA LinkedIn and the FIA Instagram account to maintain momentum, while some earlier media reports of death threats against Esteban Ocon have been described as disputed in coverage.
