- Organisers confirmed the World Athletics Gold Label event will be staged in New Delhi on October 12.
- The men's entry list features eight sub-60 performers, including Kenya’s Benard Biwott, Olympic 5000m silver medallist Ronald Kwemoi on his half-marathon debut, and Isaac Kipkemboi, plus Ethiopia’s Birhanu Legese, Bayelign Teshager and Melesse Birhan.
- Defending champion Alemaddis Eyayu leads the women’s field alongside Kenya’s Lilian Rengeruk, Ethiopia’s former half-marathon world record holder Ababel Yeshaneh, and Kenya’s Catherine Amangole.
- Headliner Jemal Mekonen brings a 58:33 personal best with multiple sub-60 results, a 2018 African 10,000m title, two fourth-place finishes at the World Half, and the 2024 Seoul Marathon win.
- It will be Mekonen’s first race in India, and he says peers describe the Delhi course as fast and fabulous.
