Ex-Spandau Ballet Singer Ross Davidson Found Guilty of Rape and Attempted Rape

Sentencing arrangements will be addressed on 4 February following verdicts returned after more than 11 hours of jury deliberation.

Overview

  • A jury at Wood Green Crown Court convicted the 37-year-old of raping a woman in London in 2015 and of attempting to rape and sexually assault another woman in Thailand in 2019.
  • Davidson had previously pleaded guilty to voyeurism after police found a covert hotel video of the Thailand complainant asleep, which she learned about only in 2023.
  • Prosecutors argued he believed he was entitled to “sex on demand” due to his perceived celebrity, while Davidson insisted all sexual activity was consensual.
  • The London victim testified she was attacked while asleep and said he used a sex collar and wrist cuffs without consent, allegations he called an “out-and-out lie.”
  • Davidson met the women via Tinder, and the latest convictions follow earlier related guilty verdicts in 2024 involving other complainants.
