Ex-CPS Teacher Sentenced to Five Years for Exposing Himself to Children

State sentencing rules will cut his prison time roughly in half.

Overview

  • Elliott Nott, 51, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of child exploitation and received concurrent five-year terms from Judge Domenica Stephenson.
  • Under state law, the sentence will be halved and further reduced by 475 days for time served and 163 days of program credit, according to court records.
  • Prosecutors said Nott exposed himself to girls ages 7 and 9 at a Maplewood Avenue bus stop and to girls ages 10 and 5 on North Richmond Avenue in late September and early October 2024.
  • Chicago police released surveillance images on October 1, 2024, and court filings say Nott’s ex-wife recognized him and contacted detectives.
  • Nott previously pleaded guilty in 2019 to placing hidden cameras, including in a staff bathroom at Ogden Elementary, received probation, and was fired by CPS; earlier convictions were reported in 1993 and 2004.
