- A Cardiff Crown Court jury found Dylan Dawes, 50, guilty on Friday of three counts of making and three counts of possessing indecent images of children.
- Investigators recovered more than 6,200 images, including 192 category A images, which is the most serious level under UK guidelines.
- Prosecutors said the material was found on a Freecom hard drive, a Compaq laptop and two iPads, with offending spanning from 2006 to March 2022.
- Dawes denied knowing about the files and suggested colleagues could have accessed devices left in open-plan BBC offices, but the judge called the evidence overwhelming.
- He was bailed for a May 14 sentencing with pre-sentence and medical reports ordered, must register as a sex offender, and is no longer employed by the BBC.
