Evri Opens First Northern Ireland Depot as £36m Network Upgrade Accelerates

The expansion positions Evri to speed cross‑border deliveries using the Windsor Framework Green Lane.

Overview

  • Evri opened its £1.3 million Mallusk, Belfast depot, its first in Northern Ireland, to serve as a UK–Ireland gateway using the Green Lane to streamline cross‑border shipping.
  • The company says it has created 650 jobs across Northern Ireland, including 50 roles at the depot, 85 permanent courier positions and 515 temporary Christmas hires.
  • A separate £36 million programme upgrades Evri’s Barnsley superhub with a £25 million third tier and a £4 million small‑item sorter, targeting capacity of 5.5 million parcels a day by Christmas 2026.
  • Evri plans up to 300 new roles in Barnsley and is raising capacity at centres including Southampton and Bury St Edmunds to prepare for peak season volumes.
  • Following its Coll‑8 acquisition in the Republic of Ireland, Evri says a landmark merger with DHL is due to complete imminently as it scales toward delivering more than a billion parcels and letters globally.
