Overview
- Producers have confirmed the Jamie Lloyd revival of Evita will transfer to Broadway and play the Winter Garden with a run scheduled for early 2027.
- Rachel Zegler will reprise her Olivier-winning turn as Eva Perón and an alternate has been named to cover certain performances.
- Jamie Lloyd will direct the New York staging and the show will be produced by Lloyd and Michael Harrison with 101 Productions serving as general managers.
- The production will not reproduce the London outdoor balcony moment for “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” because of safety and legal differences cited by the creative team, and Lloyd says he will create a new staging for Broadway.
- The transfer follows strong London awards recognition and a live cast recording that will be released before the Broadway run, and additional casting and creative-team announcements are expected ahead of the opening.
