Overview
- EVgo announced on Wednesday that it will add EVgo-branded, license-built Tesla V4 Superchargers to its metropolitan fast-charging network, with deployments starting this fall and first sites expected to be operational in the second half of 2026.
- The V4 units operate up to 500 kW at 1,000 volts and use Tesla’s Magic Dock so both NACS and CCS vehicles can charge natively without an adapter.
- EVgo will own and operate the chargers, handle site host agreements, utility interconnection, and price management, and the stations will appear in Tesla’s in-car navigation and Trip Planner.
- EVgo says the Superchargers can add up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes and will feature longer charging cables for easier access to vehicle inlets.
- The rollout is framed as a response to more than 700% growth in EVgo’s network demand over three years and sits alongside EVgo’s El Segundo Innovation Lab work on a next-generation charging architecture with initial units expected by year-end, subject to normal interconnection and timing risks.
