Everton Extend Vitalii Mykolenko Through 2029

The three-year deal secures the Ukraine international as a regular in Everton’s defence.

Overview

  • Everton announced on Monday, June 8 that Vitalii Mykolenko has signed a three-year contract that runs until the end of June 2029.
  • Mykolenko joined from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2022 for just under £20m and has been a near-constant presence, making more than 140 Premier League appearances for the club.
  • The player said he is excited and proud to sign, named manager David Moyes and club culture as reasons for staying, and voiced ambitions to be consistent and compete for trophies.
  • Some outlets have questioned his recent form after yellow cards in friendlies with Poland and Denmark and FotMob data cited no accurate crosses, lost duels and multiple fouls in the Denmark match that was cut short when Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch.
  • Everton view the contract as continuity rather than the final word on the position and are expected to seek additional left-back cover in the transfer window while considering a loan for youngster Adam Aznou.
