Etihad To Fly A380 To Bangkok For First Time Starting October 25, 2026
Enabled by the reactivation of a ninth superjumbo, the move fits Etihad’s selective A380 redeployment strategy.
Overview
- One daily Abu Dhabi–Bangkok rotation will switch to the A380 on EY402/EY403, departing AUH at 9:20 p.m. and returning from BKK at 8:30 a.m.
- The change replaces a Boeing 777-300ER on that rotation, delivering a notable capacity and passenger-experience upgrade.
- Etihad confirms The Residence will be offered on this route, alongside nine First Class Apartments, 70 Business Studios, and 405 economy seats, totaling 485 with 80 extra‑legroom options.
- The A380 will operate the evening service into a next‑morning Bangkok arrival, supporting peak winter demand and strengthening connectivity between Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
- Bangkok becomes the latest A380 market after recent returns to London, New York, Paris, Singapore and Toronto, with Tokyo Narita due to join in June 2026.
