Overview
- Etihad announced on Friday, June 12, 2026, that it will automatically add complimentary medical travel insurance to qualifying tickets for travel taking place from July through December 2026.
- The cover applies to passengers on Etihad-operated services whose point of origin and point of sale are outside the UAE and includes guests using Etihad’s Stopover Programme for up to 15 days per visit.
- No formal application is required because the insurance is applied automatically to every eligible Etihad ticket and is underwritten and administered by The National Insurance Company – Daman.
- The initiative is delivered in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and is positioned as a way to remove an administrative step and improve the end-to-end visitor experience.
- The scheme is explicitly time-limited and the public announcements do not disclose policy exclusions, claim limits, or whether the arrangement will continue after December 2026, so claimants will need to consult Daman’s terms for operational details.
