Etihad Rail Begins Passenger Service Linking Abu Dhabi and Fujairah

The service runs three times daily with Dh55–Dh120 introductory fares and coordinated hotel discounts to boost same‑day visits to the east coast.

Overview

  • Etihad Rail began passenger operations this week and now runs three round trips a day between Mohamed bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
  • Introductory fares are Dh55 for Comfort class and Dh120 for Premium class, with three ticket types—Saver, Value, and Flex—available online, via the mobile app, and at station vending machines.
  • Published timetables show morning, afternoon and evening departures from Abu Dhabi and matching return services from Fujairah that allow about seven hours on the ground for a same‑day trip.
  • Mohamed bin Zayed City station offers free parking for ticket holders, bicycle and e‑scooter parking, taxi points and a Dh10 shuttle to Reem Mall/ADNOC/ADNEC that must be booked with tickets.
  • Fujairah Tourism has partnered with a slate of hotels to give Etihad Rail passengers discounts of up to 25% on rooms, dining and spa access when guests present a valid rail ticket, a move aimed at driving visitor numbers and local tourism revenues as the national rail network expands.
