Overview
- A team spun out of the Ethereum Foundation’s Institutional Privacy Task Force formed EthSystems and announced its launch on July 14, 2026 as an independent for-profit company.
- EthSystems says its mission is to give banks and asset managers modular privacy systems that allow selective disclosure so counterparties see only needed data and regulators can audit activity.
- The company is built on the CROPS framework, which the team says evaluated more than ten privacy approaches and cataloged 23 use cases and 69 modular building blocks for compliance-focused deployments.
- EthSystems will publish maps, prototypes, and specifications publicly but will charge commercial customers for production work, explaining that production engagements need a commercial counterparty.
- Backers include BitMine, Sharplink and Ethereum co‑founder Joe Lubin, a funding pattern that speeds product work but also concentrates influence across new Foundation spinouts such as EthLabs and Ethereum Institutional.
