Ethan Czata Named to Team Canada’s World Junior Summer Showcase

Team Canada announced a 32-player preliminary roster on Friday that includes Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Ethan Czata for the World Junior Summer Showcase in Windsor.
The showcase is a short evaluation event of practices and scrimmages used to help pick Canada’s U20 World Junior Championship roster in December.
Czata arrives with prior international experience, having tallied five points in seven games to help Canada win U18 gold in 2025.
He comes off a career-high 25-goal OHL season and was traded this spring to the Guelph Storm, and he already has an NHL entry-level contract with Tampa Bay.
Guelph’s postseason progress will shape his next step because an early end to the Storm’s run would likely see Czata join the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch and possibly use the first year of his NHL deal.
