Detectives have opened an appeal for driver video to aid the inquiry.

  • The pedestrian, an adult woman, suffered potentially serious head, leg and pelvic injuries according to police.
  • Ambulance crews, a rapid response unit, a critical care paramedic and the East Anglian Air Ambulance treated her at the scene.
  • She was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further care, a major trauma center for the region.
  • Essex Police have begun a formal investigation and ask witnesses to quote incident 1101 of April 7 and share any CCTV or dashcam footage via the force website, 101 or Crimestoppers.
