Overview
- The collision, reported at about 6.45pm Tuesday on Station Road/A137 near the railway bridge, involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.
- The pedestrian, an adult woman, suffered potentially serious head, leg and pelvic injuries according to police.
- Ambulance crews, a rapid response unit, a critical care paramedic and the East Anglian Air Ambulance treated her at the scene.
- She was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further care, a major trauma center for the region.
- Essex Police have begun a formal investigation and ask witnesses to quote incident 1101 of April 7 and share any CCTV or dashcam footage via the force website, 101 or Crimestoppers.
