Epstein Estate Proposes Up to $35 Million to Resolve Remaining Abuse Claims

A New York federal judge must approve the tiered settlement before any payments are made.

Overview

  • The proposed judgment filed on Feb. 20 would pay $25 million if fewer than 40 eligible claimants are approved or $35 million if 40 or more are approved.
  • The offer covers people alleging sexual assault, abuse, or trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein between Jan. 1, 1995, and Aug. 10, 2019.
  • Co-executors Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn are named in the filing; they deny wrongdoing, have not been charged, and the proposal includes no admission of liability.
  • Plaintiffs are represented by Boies Schiller Flexner, and Bloomberg reported the firm believes at least 40 unpaid victims remain, which would trigger the higher payout.
  • The estate has previously paid more than $170 million in other settlements, and the co-executors say they agreed to this deal to avoid prolonging litigation that began in 2024.
