EPCOT’s American Adventure Columns Enclosed As Targeted Repairs Begin

A construction filing naming Tecta America signals that formal exterior restoration is underway.

Overview

  • After decorative signage was removed following the July 4th weekend, reporters documented chipped white paint, adhesive residue and at least one torn metal anchor on the pavilion’s exterior columns.
  • The four most damaged exterior columns have been wrapped in white refurbishment boxes and crews are patching paint and wallpaper inside the lobby and former exhibit spaces.
  • Walt Disney World filed a recent construction permit that lists Tecta America Corp. as the contractor and the company’s roofing, architectural metals and waterproofing work fits the visible repair needs.
  • Guest-facing operations have continued: the American Adventure audio‑animatronic show and the Voices of Liberty choir are performing on schedule and the American Heritage Gallery has reopened.
  • Disney has not issued a public statement about the work, and the visible, targeted repairs may prompt closer attention to how temporary displays are mounted and removed at the park.
