EPCOT Installs Double-Decker Bus–Themed Display at Disney Traders

The 360-degree kiosk uses a retired 1980s bus motif to channel EPCOT nostalgia for pin traders.

Overview

  • The new 360-degree display, which debuted Tuesday inside Disney Traders at the World Showcase entrance, resembles a vintage double-decker bus and sells pins, World Showcase passports, and small souvenirs.
  • The upper deck features statues of Mickey Mouse and Pluto with stacked luggage, and Pluto wears a pin lanyard, while the lower level holds the merchandise.
  • The exterior shows postcard-style art, pavilion icons, and the silver World Showcase compass logo, tying the design to each country pavilion.
  • A follow-up report Wednesday noted an added small pin wall in the shop, expanding pin capacity and making Disney Traders a stronger pin hub without crowding the floor.
  • The setup is a decorative homage to the original World Showcase buses that ran from EPCOT’s 1982 opening before fading out in the late 1980s or early 1990s, and there is no sign of bus transportation returning.
