Overview
- All lines are shut between Surbiton and Wimbledon as emergency services respond, forcing South Western Railway trains to be delayed, cancelled or revised on the approach to Waterloo.
- South Western Railway says traction current is switched off to allow access, with tickets accepted on London Buses and Underground, plus Southern, Thameslink, Great Western Railway and other operators.
- Reopening times remain uncertain, with advisories ranging from around 6pm to as late as 10pm and subject to change as the response continues.
- Separate faults added pressure on the network, including a Gatwick Airport points failure affecting Gatwick Express, Southern, Thameslink and GWR, and earlier Piccadilly line disruption after a Heathrow signal failure.
- The Victoria line was suspended between Brixton and Victoria due to a casualty on the track, and a defective track at Earlsfield earlier imposed speed restrictions that delayed Waterloo services.
