Overview

  • The URC awards announced on Thursday named Papier South African Player of the Season after voting by Springbok coaches, the four South African franchise coaches and selected broadcast commentators.
  • Papier finished the regular 2025/26 URC campaign with nine tries and added two more in a Player of the Match quarter-final against Munster while also recording five assists, 15 clean breaks and 25 defenders beaten.
  • His performances earned him a place at the recent Springbok alignment camp and have strengthened his case for a return to the national squad after last representing South Africa in 2018.
