Elizabeth Holmes Approved for Transfer to Austin Halfway House Next August

Victim notifications show the move will begin Holmes’s supervised reentry under U.S. Probation.

Overview

  • Federal victim-notification records made public on Sept. 23, 2026 say Holmes is approved to be placed at the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas on Aug. 23, 2027.
  • The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to confirm the designation, saying it does not release conditions of confinement or specific placements until an individual arrives at the facility.
  • Holmes has been serving time at Federal Prison Camp Bryan since May 2023 after her 2022 convictions for three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
  • A March 2026 court order shortened her sentence by about 12 months to 123 months, producing a projected federal release date of Feb. 22, 2030, and at least one victim who received the DOJ notice publicly criticized the halfway-house placement.
  • A24’s documentary You Can See Everything, filmed before Holmes began her sentence and due in theaters on Oct. 16, 2026, has renewed public attention to her case as she moves into the supervised reentry phase.
